| A small shard of fine china was brought to me by a young woman's mother-in-law. The remnant had been saved from the shattered plate broken by the mothers of the bride and groom in a pre-nuptial ritual at her son's Orthodox Jewish wedding. Now it is a memory and an heirloom. |
