re dusk and feel a bit of an autumn chill in the night air. My dad is reading the paper on the front steps, my mom is chattering about who was with whom and who had put on weight, etc., at yesterday's Labor Day picnic while cross stitching in her wooden rocking chair. I'm laying in the porch swing, one leg thrown across the back of the swing, the other is rocking the swing periodically by pushing off the banister railing. I am writing you. I don't know how to thank you for the gift you gave me - a mere "thanks" doesn't do my heart justice.
